Share to Care
The idea of repurposing pre-loved clothes to people in the local community for free became a reality when PC’s Kirsten and Aarron mentioned the idea during one of their school visits. Post 16 students were keen to be involved and get started with the project.
Cummins kindly supported the project by donating and fitting racking and boxes to store clean items of clothing. Emails requesting donations of washing products were sent, and the students were delighted to hear back from Fill, who donated 25 litres of washing liquid and fabric conditioner.
Together P16 have named the project, designed a logo, liaised with PC’s Kirsten and Aarron, washed, dried, ironed and sorted pre-loved clothing donations and designed and created posters in preparation for the launch.
Various job roles have been created and students have been assigned working roles, highlighting their skills and strengths. This work also provides the opportunity to deliver parts of our independent living curriculum in a practical and meaningful way.
Everyone is very excited to finally be launching the project and work together to support our local community #together we can make a difference!
If you have any pre-loved clothing that you would like to donate to the project or need to replace items of clothing, please contact the Post 16 students via email on sharetocare@daventryhillschool.org.uk
